TEXAS EQUINE VETERINARY ASSOCIATION P.O. BOX 1038 CANYON, TEXAS 79015 806.655.2244
The Texas Equine Veterinary Association (TEVA) is dedicated to improving local equine educational opportunities for practitioners. As we have been entrusted the healthcare of one of the largest horse populations of any state in the union, it is paramount that we have regional access to the most up-to-date information in the world.
In such a wonderful location we hope to fulfill another TEVA goal: to establish a level of collegiality among local and neighboring veterinarians. With more than 700 equine practitioners in the great state of Texas, and over 600 more as "next-door neighbors," we are in an excellent position to work together to benefit this region's horses and horse owners.
TEVA members support our national equine educational group, the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP). As the largest equine veterinary organization in the world, AAEP is afforded unique opportunities to help the horse and the practitioner, and we strongly encourage our TEVA members to also be members of AAEP.
As we grow, plans are in place to provide additional learning experiences for veterinary students through assistance with wet-labs and by improving the mentoring process by linking students with our members. Wet-labs, farrier-veterinary meetings, and boutique 'shotgun' meetings are all on the horizon. From university specialists and large multi-person hospital practices to the solo ambulatory practitioner in the far reaches of West Texas, TEVA offers something for everyone.
